A Saudi company gets a strong live window with an offshore QA team in Bangladesh: Dhaka (UTC+6) is 3 hours ahead of Riyadh (UTC+3), so a 9-to-6 day shares about 6 hours, straight through the working day. Neither side changes its clocks, so the overlap is the same all year. The main rules to check are the Saudi PDPL on moving personal data, and testing Arabic right-to-left interfaces.

This guide is for Saudi founders, CTOs and QA leads. RAITHub is a QA and software studio in Dhaka, with no Saudi office, delivering in English only, and is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified. It builds and tests Arabic right-to-left layouts but does not write or translate Arabic copy. Read it as engineering and hiring guidance. Legal and data-protection points are general information; confirm them with a qualified Saudi adviser.

How many working hours do Saudi Arabia and Dhaka share?

About 6, across most of the working day, and the same all year because neither Riyadh nor Dhaka observes daylight saving. With both sides on a 9:00 to 18:00 day:

Riyadh time (UTC+3)Dhaka time (UTC+6)What usually happens
09:0012:00Your morning; Dhaka is at midday
09:00–15:0012:00–18:00The ~6 shared hours: stand-up, demo, live bug triage
15:00–18:0018:00–21:00Dhaka winds down; handoff is written for your next morning
Riyadh eveningDhaka nightAsynchronous; the written handoff is ready before you start

Six shared hours is a wide window for offshore QA: most of the day can be live if you want it, with a written daily handoff closing the rest. For a neighbouring market and the wider Gulf routine, see QA testing services in the Dubai and the GCC; for the overall model see offshore QA testing services.

How do you test an Arabic right-to-left interface?

Arabic flips the layout, not just the text, so right-to-left (RTL) QA is its own discipline. RAITHub tests RTL interfaces but does not author Arabic copy. The common failures are layout mirroring, mixed Arabic-and-English strings, and number and date formatting. The deep version is the Arabic RTL web app QA checklist; the essentials:

  • Mirroring: the whole layout, navigation, icons and progress direction flip, not only the paragraph text.
  • Bidirectional text: an English product code or URL inside an Arabic sentence must order correctly under the Unicode bidirectional algorithm.
  • Truncation and wrapping: Arabic strings are often a different length, so test overflow in both directions.
  • Formats: dates, currency and the Hijri calendar where your product uses it, plus Eastern Arabic numerals if the interface shows them.

What does the Saudi PDPL expect before personal data leaves the Kingdom?

Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), overseen by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), sets conditions on transferring personal data outside the Kingdom, including purpose limits and appropriate safeguards for the destination (SDAIA: Personal Data Protection). For QA, the cleanest way to meet that is usually to avoid the transfer entirely:

25 checks before you let real users in. Enter your email and we’ll reveal it below (and send you a copy).

One email, the checklist, no spam. By submitting you agree we can email you this checklist and reply to your enquiry.

  • Test against synthetic data, not copies of real customers, so no personal data leaves the Kingdom.
  • Keep production data in your own in-Kingdom or chosen-region account, with testers deploying into it rather than hosting anything.
  • Bind the recipient by contract to handle any unavoidable personal data under your instructions and the PDPL's transfer conditions.
  • Sign a DPA defining the testers' obligations.

RAITHub makes no PDPL "compliance" claim, and no vendor can take on your controller obligations. What it does is sign DPAs, follow your controls, and design testing so personal data stays in your environment. This is general information; confirm your transfer position with a qualified Saudi adviser and SDAIA.

How big is the cost gap for a Saudi buyer?

Wide, and mostly in the rate. One 2026 QA outsourcing guide puts manual testing at $80 to $150 or more an hour in North America and $60 to $160 in Western Europe, against $8 to $55 in India and Southeast Asia, with automation 20 to 50% higher in every region (QA Madness 2026 rates). Freelance marketplaces sit lower: Upwork lists a median of $35 an hour for QA engineers (Upwork).

OptionMarket rate (2026)Overlap with your Riyadh day
Western agency (US or Europe)$60 to $160/hr manual (QA Madness)Partial, few hours
Freelancer or crowdtestingUpwork median $35/hr for QA engineersVaries, knowledge leaves each time
Offshore managed QA (Bangladesh)$8 to $55/hr band region; quoted per scopeAbout 6 hours, plus async

Those are market figures, not RAITHub prices; RAITHub publishes no rates. A low rate times more hours or more rework is not a saving, so compare fixed quotes with scope and deliverables visible. See QA as a service pricing and in-house QA vs outsourced QA.

Where should the tests live?

In your repository, running in your CI, with bugs in your tracker. That is what separates a service you keep from hours you rent: if the automated suite lives on the vendor's machines, you lose it when the contract ends and cannot prove a release was tested. See QA gates for offshore teams and the test pyramid for SaaS.

Why RAITHub for QA in Saudi Arabia?

  • A wide live window, about 6 shared hours across the working day, all year, plus written daily handoffs.
  • Arabic RTL as a QA discipline, with a dedicated checklist; RAITHub tests right-to-left layouts but does not write or translate Arabic copy.
  • A managed service, not seats. RAITHub manages its own testers. It does not offer staff augmentation.
  • Tests and IP you keep. Automated tests and CI configuration go in your repository, with IP assigned to you and an NDA as standard; DPAs are signed where personal data is involved.
  • Counted suites as proof. Sundor Skin runs 530+ automated tests. TheSkinProof, the founder's own venture rather than a client, runs 750+.

When a Saudi company should not hire RAITHub for QA

  • When a customer or framework requires a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified vendor, or an accredited penetration test report. RAITHub holds neither certification and does OWASP-based testing, not certified pentests.
  • When you need a legal accessibility certificate. A WCAG 2.2 audit reports issues and fixes but does not certify legal compliance; confirm with your adviser.
  • When you need Arabic copywriting or translation. RAITHub tests Arabic interfaces but does not write Arabic copy.
  • When you want to manage the testers yourself. That is staff augmentation, which RAITHub does not offer.

How RAITHub would test this

  • Scope: the journeys and roles that matter, the browsers and devices, the Arabic RTL checks, and the test types across manual and exploratory, security and automation, API and performance.
  • Rhythm: the wide Riyadh overlap for live triage, a written handoff every Dhaka working day, bugs in your tracker.
  • Model: a monthly QA plan, a one-off audit or a dedicated team RAITHub manages and bills monthly.
  • Contract: IP assignment, NDA, and a DPA where personal data is involved, designed so it stays in your chosen-region account.

Next step: a free 15-minute technical audit, then a written fixed quote. For the full service, see QA as a service. Ready? Ask for a QA plan or dedicated team quote.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours does a Saudi team share with Dhaka?

About 6, across most of the working day, with both sides on a 9:00 to 18:00 day. Dhaka is UTC+6 and Riyadh is UTC+3, and neither observes daylight saving, so the overlap is the same all year.

Can RAITHub test an Arabic right-to-left interface?

Yes. RAITHub treats RTL as a QA discipline, checking layout mirroring, bidirectional text, truncation and Arabic number and date formats against a dedicated checklist. It tests right-to-left layouts but does not write or translate Arabic copy.

Can we send personal data to an offshore QA team under the PDPL?

The PDPL sets conditions and safeguards on transferring personal data outside the Kingdom. The cleanest answer for QA is to test against synthetic data so no personal data leaves Saudi Arabia, and to keep production data in your own chosen-region account. Confirm your position with a Saudi adviser and SDAIA.

Is offshore QA cheaper than hiring in Saudi Arabia?

On rates, clearly: Western manual QA runs $60 to $160 an hour or more, while offshore manual QA starts far lower. The total saving depends on hours and rework, so compare fixed quotes with the scope visible.

Will we keep the automated tests?

Yes, if they live in your repository and run in your CI from the start. RAITHub commits tests and CI configuration to your codebase and assigns the IP to you. Tests kept on a vendor's machines disappear when the contract does.

Does RAITHub have a Saudi office?

No. RAITHub is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, works with Saudi clients remotely in English, and has no Saudi office. It is an offshore partner, not a nearshore one.
