Code rescue services for software that stalled, broke or lost its developer.
RAITHub's code rescue service takes over a codebase someone else wrote, finds out what is actually wrong, and stabilises the paths your business depends on, such as sign-in, checkout and payments. It starts with a 2-week diagnostic and a written risk register, then a fixed scope. The default is to keep your code, not rewrite it.
What's included
- Access recovery: repositories, hosting, domains and API keys moved to accounts you control
- A codebase and infrastructure audit, with every finding ranked by business risk
- Tests written around critical paths before anything is changed
- Stabilisation of the flows that lose money or data when they fail
- Paired reviews and knowledge transfer with your own engineers, if you have them
How it works.
Every phase ends with something you can read, run or check, and you decide before the next one starts.
Technical audit
A free 15-minute call about the symptoms and the stack. You hear whether you need a rescue or a single fix.
2-week diagnostic
Read the code, trace critical paths end to end, and check infrastructure, secrets and backups.
Stabilise
Fix the ranked risks inside the agreed scope, each change behind a test and a branch preview.
Handover
Runbooks and a walkthrough. Continue with a dedicated team, or run the product yourself.
Proof from systems RAITHub built.
Numbers are counted from the repositories, not estimated.
RAITHub website
In a pre-launch review of this site, tracing one admin action to the database exposed a data-wiping bug that green tests had missed. The fix shipped with regression tests.
Sundor Skin
The standard a rescue works towards: CI replays every migration and fails if a buyer-scoped table lacks row-level security.
TheSkinProof
The founder's own marketplace venture, built and run by RAITHub, with enforced coverage thresholds.
These systems were built, not rescued. RAITHub does not publish details of client codebases, so the diagnostic examples come from its own platforms.
Fixed scope or a dedicated team. No published rates.
Every engagement starts with a free 15-minute technical audit and ends in a fixed, written quote. For market ranges, read what it costs. The pricing page explains both models.
A rescue is priced as a fixed diagnostic, then a fixed stabilisation scope, both in writing with their assumptions. If a fixed-price phase overruns because of a RAITHub mistake, RAITHub absorbs the cost. Work that goes beyond stabilisation, such as replacing a module that fails every sprint, is scoped separately so you decide.
When RAITHub is not the right fit.
Saying no early is cheaper for both sides than a project that was never going to fit.
You need someone in production within the hour. Use an on-call contractor for the outage, then bring RAITHub in for the root cause.
Your procurement requires SOC 2 or ISO 27001. RAITHub is not certified.
The system is a regulated fintech or health product and you have no compliance partner. RAITHub has not shipped one.
You want engineers placed inside your team under your management. RAITHub does not offer staff augmentation.
Code Rescue questions
Straight answers to what buyers ask before they book a call.
What does a code rescue service include? +
Access recovery, a codebase and infrastructure audit, a written risk register, tests around critical paths, stabilisation of the flows that fail most expensively, and a handover with runbooks. RAITHub keeps the code that works and replaces only what keeps failing.
How long does a code rescue take? +
RAITHub's Code Rescue runs 2 to 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks are a diagnostic that ends in a fixed-scope plan, so the rest of the timeline is agreed before stabilisation starts. Larger platforms are split into phases.
How much does a code rescue cost? +
RAITHub publishes no rates. After a free 15-minute technical audit you get a fixed price for the diagnostic, then a fixed quote for stabilisation with its assumptions written down. The code rescue cost guide covers published market ranges.
Will you rewrite my app? +
Not by default. A rewrite throws away the bugs you have already fixed and delays launch. RAITHub replaces a module only when the audit shows it keeps failing, and that work is scoped and priced separately so the decision stays yours.
My developer disappeared. Can RAITHub still take over? +
Yes, as long as you can prove you own the accounts. The first job is moving repositories, hosting, domains and API keys to accounts you control. If source code is missing, the audit call covers what can realistically be recovered.
Do you rescue apps that are not built on Next.js? +
Yes. Code rescue is stack-agnostic. RAITHub's experience runs deepest in Next.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, and the audit call will tell you plainly if your stack is outside what RAITHub can support well.
