A Dutch company can run offshore QA from Bangladesh with a usable live window: Dhaka (UTC+6) is 4 hours ahead of the Netherlands in winter and 5 in summer, so a 9-to-6 day shares about 4 to 5 hours in the Dutch afternoon. English is widely spoken in Dutch tech, which fits RAITHub's English-only delivery. The main rule to check is GDPR before personal data leaves the EU.

This guide is for Dutch founders, CTOs and QA leads. RAITHub is a QA and software studio in Dhaka, with no Dutch office, delivering in English only, and is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified. Read it as engineering and hiring guidance. Legal and data-protection points are general information; confirm them with a qualified Dutch adviser.

How many working hours do the Netherlands and Dhaka share?

About 4 in winter and 5 in summer, in the Dutch afternoon. Dhaka keeps UTC+6 with no daylight saving; the Netherlands moves between CET and CEST like the rest of Central Europe. With both sides on a 9:00 to 18:00 day:

Dutch timeDhaka time (no DST)What usually happens
09:0013:00 (winter) / 14:00 (summer)Your morning; Dhaka is already mid-afternoon
14:00–18:00 (winter)18:00–22:00The ~4 shared hours: stand-up, demo, live bug triage
13:00–18:00 (summer)18:00–23:00~5 shared hours during Central European Summer Time
Dutch morningDhaka afternoonAsynchronous; a written handoff lands before your next morning

The overlap is the Dutch afternoon: set priorities in your morning, let testing run through the Dhaka evening, and close the loop with a written daily handoff. The figures match the rest of Central Europe, so the software testing company Germany guide uses the same numbers; for the wider model see offshore QA testing services.

Does English-only delivery work for QA in the Netherlands?

For QA, usually yes, and the Netherlands is one of the more English-fluent markets in Europe for engineering work. Test cases, defect tickets, CI output and release notes are written artifacts, and English is the working language of most tooling. RAITHub delivers in English only and does not write or translate Dutch copy. Where your product has a Dutch-language interface, QA still checks that Dutch strings render, wrap and sort correctly, that forms accept Dutch formats such as the comma decimal separator and postcode, and that date and currency formatting matches the locale.

  • Written artifacts in English: test plans, defect tickets, automated test names and CI logs.
  • Dutch locale tested, not authored: string rendering, number and date formats, sorting and truncation.
  • Live calls in English during the afternoon overlap; everything else is async.

What does GDPR require before test data leaves the EU?

GDPR restricts transfers of personal data outside the EU unless the destination has an adequacy decision or the transfer uses appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, backed by a transfer impact assessment (European Commission: Standard Contractual Clauses). Bangladesh has no adequacy decision, so a transfer there needs SCCs plus safeguards. For QA, the practical answer is usually to avoid the transfer entirely:

One email, the checklist, no spam. By submitting you agree we can email you this checklist and reply to your enquiry.

  • Test against synthetic data, not copies of real customers, so no personal data crosses the border.
  • Keep production data in your own EU-region account, with testers deploying into an account you own rather than hosting anything.
  • Put SCCs in place for any processing of personal data that cannot be avoided, with a transfer impact assessment.
  • Sign a DPA (verwerkersovereenkomst) defining the testers as processors acting on your instructions.

RAITHub makes no GDPR or AVG "compliance" claim, and no vendor can take on your controller obligations. What it does is sign DPAs and the appropriate transfer clauses, follow your controls, and design testing so personal data stays in your environment. This is general information; confirm your transfer position with a qualified Dutch adviser. The Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) and the European EDPB publish current guidance.

How big is the cost gap for a Dutch buyer?

Wide, and mostly in the rate. One 2026 QA outsourcing guide puts manual testing at $60 to $160 an hour in Western Europe against $8 to $55 in India and Southeast Asia, with automation 20 to 50% higher in every region (QA Madness 2026 rates). Freelance marketplaces sit lower: Upwork lists a median of $35 an hour for QA engineers (Upwork).

OptionMarket rate (2026)Overlap with your Dutch day
Dutch or Western Europe agency$60 to $160/hr manual (QA Madness)Full
Freelancer or crowdtestingUpwork median $35/hr for QA engineersFull, knowledge leaves each time
Offshore managed QA (Bangladesh)$8 to $55/hr band region; quoted per scope4 hours winter, 5 summer, plus async

Those are market figures, not RAITHub prices; RAITHub publishes no rates. A low rate times more hours or more rework is not a saving, so compare fixed quotes with scope and deliverables visible. See QA as a service pricing and in-house QA vs outsourced QA.

Where should the tests live?

In your repository, running in your CI, with bugs in your tracker. That is what separates a service you keep from hours you rent: if the automated suite lives on the vendor's machines, you lose it when the contract ends and cannot prove a release was tested. See QA gates for offshore teams and the test pyramid for SaaS.

Why RAITHub for QA in the Netherlands?

  • A live window in your afternoon, 4 shared hours in winter and 5 in summer, plus written daily handoffs for the rest.
  • A managed service, not seats. RAITHub manages its own testers, which keeps the engagement clearly a service. It does not offer staff augmentation.
  • Tests and IP you keep. Automated tests and CI configuration go in your repository, with IP assigned to you and an NDA as standard; DPAs and SCCs are signed where personal data is involved.
  • Specialist breadth from one provider: manual and exploratory testing with UAT support, mobile testing on real iOS and Android devices, web application security testing against OWASP guidance, WCAG 2.2 accessibility audits, and automation, API and performance testing.
  • Counted suites as proof. Sundor Skin runs 530+ automated tests. TheSkinProof, the founder's own venture rather than a client, runs 750+.

When a Dutch company should not hire RAITHub for QA

  • When a customer or framework requires a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified vendor, or an accredited penetration test report. RAITHub holds neither certification and does OWASP-based testing, not certified pentests.
  • When you need a legal accessibility certificate. A WCAG 2.2 audit reports issues and fixes but does not certify compliance with the EAA; confirm with your adviser.
  • When you want to manage the testers yourself. That is staff augmentation, which RAITHub does not offer.
  • When live, same-time collaboration for most of your working day is essential and 4 to 5 hours is too thin.

How RAITHub would test this

  • Scope: the journeys and roles that matter, the browsers and devices, the Dutch locale checks, and the test types across manual and exploratory, security and automation, API and performance.
  • Rhythm: the Dutch-afternoon overlap for live triage, a written handoff every Dhaka working day, bugs in your tracker.
  • Model: a monthly QA plan, a one-off audit or a dedicated team RAITHub manages and bills monthly.
  • Contract: IP assignment, NDA, and a DPA with SCCs where personal data is involved, designed so it stays in your EU-region account.

Next step: a free 15-minute technical audit, then a written fixed quote. For the full service, see QA as a service. Ready? Ask for a QA plan or dedicated team quote.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours does a Dutch team share with Dhaka?

About 4 in winter and 5 in summer, in the Dutch afternoon, with both sides on a 9:00 to 18:00 day. Dhaka keeps UTC+6 all year, so the gap moves only because the Netherlands switches between CET and CEST.

Can we send personal data to an offshore QA team under GDPR?

Only with appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses plus a transfer impact assessment, because Bangladesh has no adequacy decision. The simpler answer for QA is to test against synthetic data so no personal data leaves the EU. Confirm with a Dutch adviser.

Does RAITHub deliver QA in Dutch?

No. RAITHub delivers in English only and does not write or translate Dutch copy. It does test your Dutch-language interface for correct rendering, number and date formats, sorting and truncation, with the test documentation written in English.

Is offshore QA cheaper than hiring in the Netherlands?

On rates, clearly: Western Europe manual QA runs $60 to $160 an hour against $8 to $55 in India and Southeast Asia. The total saving depends on hours and rework, so compare fixed quotes with the scope visible.

Will we keep the automated tests?

Yes, if they live in your repository and run in your CI from the start. RAITHub commits tests and CI configuration to your codebase and assigns the IP to you. Tests kept on a vendor's machines disappear when the contract does.

Does RAITHub have a Dutch office?

No. RAITHub is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, works with Dutch clients remotely in English, and has no Dutch office. It is an offshore partner, not a nearshore one.
